HomeMy WebLinkAbout20130417 YCRM MinutesROSEMOUNT YOUTH COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS Date: April 17, 2013 PRE - MEETING TOUR Prior to the start of the regular meeting, Police Chief Eric Werner talked to the Youth Commission about the Dakota Communications Center (DCC). Gino Messina of the DCC showed the group a video and gave a short presentation. He then led the group on a tour of the facility. CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 5:13 p.m. in the Training Room of the Dakota Communications Center at 2860 1601h Street West in Rosemount. Chairperson Eichten called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners Nelson, Drew, Simmering and Alex attending. City Council member Jeff Weisensel and Staff Liaison Emmy Foster were also present. Youth Commissioners Olson, Neuens, and Alternate Narloch were absent. CONSENT AGENDA Motion called to approve the consent agenda. Motion by Eichten. Second by Alex. Motion to approve the consent agenda. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Absent: Olson, Neuens and Narloch. Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS a. Youth Commission Recruitment Process Staff Liaison Emmy Foster gave an update on the recruitment for the Youth Commission. Interviews were held in early April and the Youth Commission will be increasing to 15 members. City Council member Weisensel and Staff Liaison Foster advised that the expectations of the expanded Youth Commission will be discussed at the May 151h meeting when the new Commissioners will also be in attendance. NEW BUSINESS a. Dakota Communications Center Update The Youth Commissioners were provided a tour and given information about the DCC prior to the start of the regular meeting. REPORTS The next meeting of the Youth Commission is scheduled for May 15, 2013 at 3:45 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall in Rosemount. All outgoing and incoming Commissioners should attend. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Commissioner Eichten and seconded by Nelson that the meeting be adjourned.
