REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS
FEBRUARY 24, 2010
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth
Commission was held on Wednesday February 24, 2010 at 3:50 p.m. in the Conference
Room at City Hall, 2875 1451h Street West, Rosemount.
Assistant City Administrator Foster called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners
Olson, Neuens, Kearney, Erdmann, Laumer, Carroll and Brist attending. Youth
Commissioner Alternate Condon was absent. Council Member Bills was present.
CONSENT AGENDA
Motion by Brist. Second by Neuens.
Motion to approve Consent Agenda.

Nays: 0. Motion carried.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
5.a. Election of Officers
Foster summarized the process for the election of the chairperson, vice chairperson and
secretary positions.
Foster called for nominations for the Chairperson position. Commissioner Brist nominated
himself for Chairperson. No other interested persons.
Motion by Kearney. Second by Carroll.
Motion to accept Brandon Brist as Chair.
Ayes: 7
Nays: 0. Motion carried.
Foster called for nominations for the Vice Chairperson position. Commission Neuens
nominated Commissioner Kearney for Vice Chairperson. No other interested persons.
Motion by Neuens. Second by Brist.
Motion to accept Joseph Kearney as Vice Chairperson.
Ayes: 7
Nays: 0. Motion carried.
Foster called for nominations for the Secretary position. Commissioner Olson nominated
Commissioner Laumer for Secretary. No other interested persons.
Motion by Erdmann. Second by Olson.
Motion to accept Nicole Laumer as Secretary.
Ayes: 7
Nays: 0. Motion carried.
Officers were elected for the following positions:
Chair- Commissioner Brist
Vice Chair- Commissioner Kearney
Secretary- Commissioner Laumer
Chairperson Brist took over running the meeting at this point.
5.b. Future Agendas
Discussion was held regarding future agenda topics including the following: 1) Changes to
the bylaws; connecting the Youth of Rosemount to the seniors; supporting/ advertising for
the Relay For Life, including HAC, High schools Against Cancer, and visiting the middle
and Elementary schools; social media•, Parks and recreation; the family resource center; the
DARE program; and future of St. Joseph's Church campus.
In addition, the Commission would be interested in having a work session with the City
Council to get feedback on their vision and ideas for the Youth Commission.
REPORTS
7.a. Next meeting date
Alternative date for March meeting was discussed. The date was modified to be moved up
by one week due to spring break. The next Youth Commission meeting will be held on
March 171h , 2010 at 3:45 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Rooms.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, Commissioner Brist adjourned the Youth
Commission meeting at 4:46 p.m.
