RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Adopt a Resolution Receiving Plans and
Specifications and Authorize Ad for Bids for 2015 Trail Improvements, ENG 0174
BACKGROUND
On February 3, 2015, the City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for the 2015
trail improvement project. At this time, the plans and specifications are complete and on file in the
Engineering Department.
The project includes the following improvements:
•Diamond Path Trail: 155th Street to 152nd Street
o Replace the existing 8-foot wide trail and install a root b
o Remove volunteer growth brush adjacent to trail
•Innisfree Park Trail: Diamond Path to Innisfree Park shelter/playground
o Replace the existing 8-foot wide bituminous trail
o Remove volunteer growth brush adjacent to trail
•Innisfree Park Drainage Repair: East end of park
o Install storm sewer to direct drainage along storm sewer
o Minor grading to direct drainage across trail
The total estimated project cost is $198,000, which includes 20% for indirect costs. Of that amount,
$187,500 is for the improvements and $10,500 is for drainage improvements. The trail improvements are
proposed to be funded with the Pedestrian Improvements Fund and the drainage improvements are
proposed to be funded with the Storm Utility Fund.
CONCLUSION
Staff recommends City Council receive the plans and specifications and authorize the advertising for bids
for the 2015 Trail Improvements project, ENG 0174

RESOLUTION 2015 -
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR
2015 TRAIL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, ENG 0174
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount has ordered the preparation of plans and
specifications the 2015 Trail Improvement Project, ENG 0174, and such plans and specifications have
been presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount,
Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper and the
Finance and Commerce an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements
under such approved plans and specifications for ENG 0174.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than one
(1) weeks before the date set for opening bids, specifying the work to be done, stating the bids
will be publicly opened on June 5, 2015 at 10:00 o’clock a.m. at the Rosemount City Hall in said
City, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and
accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier’s check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City
Clerk for five (5%) percent of the amount of such bid.
4. Such advertisement for bids is hereby authorized by the Council.
