RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve a resolution authorizing execution of a new
Joint Powers Agreement for Dakota County Electronic Crimes Task Force.
ISSUE
The original JPA was signed in December 2014, however as of this time Inver Grove Heights was not able
to sign the JPA and as elected not to be a part of the task force. The new JPA removes Inver Grove
Heights as a member.
BACKGROUND
All participating communities must re-execute the Joint Powers Agreement to participate in the Dakota
County Electronic Crimes Task Force due to the non-participation by Inver Grove Heights. The other
terms of the agreement remain the same. The agreement is for three years and sufficient funds have been
budgeted to continue with our participation.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the approval of the attached resolution authorizing the execution of the revised Joint
Powers Agreement for Dakota County Electronic Crimes Task Force.
