REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS
AUGUST 3RD, 2015
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount City Council was held
on Monday, August 3rd, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 2875 145th Street
West, Rosemount.
Mayor Droste called the meeting to order with Council Members DeBettignies, Nelson, Weisensel
and Demuth attending. Staff present included City Administrator Johnson, Community
Development Director Lindquist, Director of Public Works/City Engineer Wrase, Chief of Police
Scott and City Clerk Hadler. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA
City Administrator Johnson stated there were no proposed changes.
Motion by Weisensel. Second by DeBettignies.
Motion to Adopt the Agenda.
Ayes: DeBettignies, Nelson, Droste, Weisensel, Demuth
Nays: 0. Motion carried.
PRESENTATIONS
3.a. MVTA Update
Mayor Droste introduced Jen Lehmann, Planner for the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority, to give
a presentation regarding MVTA. MVTA currently serves seven cities in two counties.
Ms. Lehmann provided a summary of route, trip and ridership data for Rosemount. MVTA will be
adding service during the Minnesota State Fair. MVTA is planning to offer Saint Paul Express
Service starting in 2016. MVTA launched a new website and a new iPhone and Android app in
2015, Wi-Fi on all buses, and started a number of a service evaluation studies.
Council member Weisensel stated the Wi-Fi connection was a great addition. He also asked if the
ridership data was individual people. Ms. Lehmann stated it was individual boardings. He asked
how we measure up to other cities. Ms. Lehmann responded that this is something that they are
currently researching.
Council member Nelson inquired about event buses. Ms. Lehmann stated this was not something
they were able to offer at this time, but they are following the interest. Council member Nelson
asked about local connections to light rail. Ms. Lehmann described the available routes.
Council member DeBettignies inquired about the impact of the southwest expansion of light rail on
MVTA’s planning efforts. Ms. Lehmann described the process of planning future connections
between Rosemount and these areas.

NEW BUSINESS
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mayor Droste reviewed the calendar of events. The next City Council work session will be held
Monday, August 10th, 2015. The next City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 18th,
2015, at 7:00 p.m.
Mayor Droste thanked Council member Demuth for organizing the Council booth for Leprechaun
Days.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by Droste,
second by Weisensel, the meeting was adjourned at 7:34 p.m.
