At Rosemount Middle School at 9:00 a.m.: � � 6
* Students and staff will participant in a Torch Run for Peace. The route takes them around the city
visiting various schools.
• Students are also working on essays,poems,and posters depicting a peace theme.

At the Community Center from 630 p.m.to 730 p.m.: .� 5���� �'�j+U ��j°S - . ,
• Torch run into Community Center to light Peace Tree.(No real fire,just symbolic) "Flames"are
cutout of hand on which participants will write peace message and then attach to Tree. Flames are
being cut out by local Brownie Troop.
• Students invited to read their essays and poems and posters will be displayed.
• Students from Rosemount Middle School science class will fly their hot air balloons inside the
� auditorium. The balloons have a peace message.
• A video tape will be shown of RMS students singing Peace in various languages. All participants will
be invited to sing along.
• Community quilt squares will be available to be decorated. Started a year ago,we would like to finish
the third one.
• Announcement of"SUP!"—a whaYs up guide for Rosemount youth listing opportunities in
community service,education,recrearion,jobs,counseling.
• Open house at Community Center in celebrarion of Cities Week.
• Refreshments and resource materials will be available.
