RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Declare Equipment as Surplus Property and
Authorize Appropriate Disposal
ISSUE
The Public Works Department has numerous items that have been removed from service. Staff is seeking
approval to declare these items surplus property, with authorization to dispose of them in the
recommended manner.
BACKGROUND
The attached table shows the equipment that is proposed to be declared surplus property, as well as the
recommended action for each item (auction or disposal).
The last two items on the list are proposed for disposal because of their poor operating condition. The
remaining items on the list are still in adequate operating condition but no longer needed in the
department. They are proposed to be sent to auction as soon as Council approval is given.
SUMMARY
Staff is requesting that City Council declare the listed equipment as surplus property, and authorize
disposal of the items as recommended on the list.
