RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to accept a donation of a Stalker DSR2X Radar from
the Office of Traffic Safety.
BACKGROUND
The Rosemount Police Department has participated with the Dakota County Traffic Safety Group since
May 2005. This is a cooperative law enforcement traffic safety effort to increase traffic safety.
ISSUE
The Council is being asked to accept a donation of a Stalker DSR2X Radar unit from the Office of Traffic
Safety. The Rosemount Police Department was selected by Bill Hammes the Law Enforcement Liaison
for the Office of Traffic Safety to receive the award for the following reasons:
1. Rosemount Police Department has continued to work with all other Dakota County law
enforcement agencies on the TZD Project.
2. Rosemount Police Department is host to every grant coordinators meetings.
3. Rosemount Police Department works closely with the schools to help educate students and
parents in regards to traffic safety issues.
4. Rosemount Police Department has demonstrated a strong commitment to reducing motor vehicle
crashes throughout Rosemount and Dakota County.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the acceptance of the donation.

The Rosemount Police Department was selected to receive the Outstanding Agency
award for the 2nd quarter of the Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) Enforcement grant. Your
agency was nominated by me and approved by the Department of Public
Safety/Office of Traffic Safety.
I selected Rosemount Police Department for this award for several reasons.
1. Rosemount Police Department has continued to work with all other Dakota
County law enforcement agencies on the TZD Project.
2. Rosemount Police Department is host to every grant coordinators meetings.
3. Rosemount Police Department works closely with the schools to help
educate students and parents in regards to traffic safety issues.
4. Rosemount Police Department has demonstrated a strong commitment to
reducing motor vehicle crashes throughout Rosemount and Dakota County.
As a result of these great efforts and commitments to traffic safety, your police
department was selected for this award. The Rosemount Police Department will be
one of eight law enforcement agencies in the metro area to receive this award.
Please let your officers know how much we appreciate all of their efforts. It was
through their efforts that the Rosemount Police Department received this award. It
takes a combination of support from the city, administration and the cops on the
street to make the streets of Rosemount safer for everyone. The Office of Traffic
Safety appreciates all your hard work.
The Stalker DSR2X Radar you selected if valued at approximately $3,500.00.
