ATTACHMENTS: Change Order 2 APPROVED BY: ddj RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve Change Order No. 2 for Well No. 16, City Project 416 BACKGROUND Test pumping of Well No. 16 is scheduled to begin December 7, 2015. The test pumping will be discharged via a discharge pipe system approximately 1400 feet south of the Well No. 16 site, crossing the entrance to the Bella Vista Development (131st Street W.). To accommodate the heavy traffic moving through the Bella Vista Development, a heavy duty pipe ramp is recommended to allow construction traffic to drive over the discharge piping. The ramp, along with jersey barrier protection, will allow construction traffic to cross over the pipe while maintaining productivity on both the development construction site as well as Well No. 16 construction. The specifications contain language to allow a gravel ramping system, however, due to the timing of the development and Bacardi Avenue, final pavement has been placed and heavy traffic is anticipated, making a heavy duty ramp the recommended option. The test pumping is schedule to last two weeks. A copy of Change Order No. 2 is attached. These contract changes result in a net increase of $2,464.00 to the current contract amount of $430,960.00 for a new total of $433,424.00. All costs associated with Change Order No. 2 will be funded by the Water Core Fund. SUMMARY Staff recommends Council approval of Change Order No. 2 for Well No. 16, City Project 416.
