BACKGROUND
On September 1, 2015 the City Council approved the proposal from WSB & Associates, Inc. to provide
design, construction management and startup services for a 1.5 MG Ground Storage Tank and Booster
Station, to be located on the City property between Fire Station 2 and the Bacardi Water Tower. A copy
of the plans, which are 90% complete, is attached for Utility Commission review.
The construction of the 1.5MG reservoir is expected to be completed in 2016 to coordinate with the
completion of Well 16. The construction of this facility is intended to accommodate future growth and
help mitigate potential issues with increased radium levels at Well 16. The most recent cost estimate for
the project is $4,138,000 including contingencies and engineering costs.
SUMMARY
Staff is inviting Utility Commission input regarding the plans. The full plan set will be available for review
at the meeting. Comments will be passed on to WSB & Associates, Inc. to be incorporated into the final
plans.
