ATTACHMENTS: Payment Voucher APPROVED BY: RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve Payment 2 and Final to Classic Protective Coatings for East Side Water Tower Improvement Project, Engineering Project 0173, and Accepting it for Perpetual Maintenance BACKGROUND: This item is on the agenda to request Payment 2 and Final to Classic Protective Coatings for the East Side Water Tower Improvement Project, Engineering Project 0173. The final construction amount of $235,600.00 is 0.341% greater than the contract amount of $234,800.00. This contract increase was the addition of a pipe-style safety climb device for a total of $800 which was contained in Change Order 1 and approved by Council on October 6, 2015. SUMMARY: Staff recommends that Council approve Payment 2 and final for the project and accept the project for perpetual maintenance subject to the following conditions. 1.Satisfactorily showing that the contractor has complied with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 290.92 requiring withholding state income tax. 2.Evidence in the form of an affidavit that all claims against the contractor by reasons of the contract have been fully paid or satisfactorily secured. 3.Consent of Surety to Final Payment certification from the contractor’s surety. 4.Two-year Maintenance Bond.
