BACKGROUND:
On September 1, 2015, the Rosemount City Council authorized a Professional Services contract with WSB
and Associates, Inc. (WSB) to provide design, construction management and startup services for the 1.5
Million Gallon Ground Storage Reservoir and Booster Station. The preparation of plans and
specifications for this effort, Engineering Project 179, has been completed. At this time, the plans and
specifications are on file in the Engineering Department.
The project will provide for 1.5 million gallons (MG) of ground storage and a 4,000 gallon-per-minute
(gpm) pumping station. The construction of the reservoir and booster station could provide adequate
storage and fire protection for future development out to 2025. The ground storage reservoir will allow
for the mixing of well water from various sources to help ensure radium levels are in compliance with
United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.
The project funding will be split equally between the Water Core Fund and Water Utility Fund.
Construction is specified for completion in December of 2016.
SUMMARY:
Staff recommends Council receive the plans and specifications and authorize the advertising for bids for
the 1.5 Million Gallon Ground Storage Reservoir and Booster Station, Engineering Project 179.

RESOLUTION 2015 -
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE
1.5 MILLION GALLON RESERVOIR AND BOOSTER STATION
ENGINEERING PROJECT 179
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount has ordered the preparation of plans and
specifications for the 1.5 Million Gallon Ground Storage Reservoir and Booster Station, Engineering
Project 179, and such plans and specifications have been presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount,
Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper and the
Finance and Commerce an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements
under such approved plans and specifications for Engineering Project 179.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than one
(1) weeks before the date set for opening bids, specifying the work to be done, stating the bids
will be publicly opened on January 21, 2016 at 10:00 o’clock a.m. at the Rosemount City Hall in
said City, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and
accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier’s check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City
Clerk for five (5%) percent of the amount of such bid.
4. Such advertisement for bids is hereby authorized by the Council.
