RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to designate Farmington/Rosemount Independent
Town Pages as the City’s official newspaper for the year 2016.
SUMMARY
Staff is recommending continuing using Farmington/Rosemount Independent Town Pages as its official
newspaper in 2016.
Staff received quotes from Farmington/Rosemount Independent Town Pages and Farmington/Rosemount Dakota
County Tribune as follows:
Farmington/Rosemount Independent Town Pages
• Cost for legal ads in 2016 is $7.65 per column inch, which is the same as last year.
• All publication notices are due to by 5 p.m. on Friday for publication the following
Thursday.
Farmington/Rosemount Dakota County Tribune
• Cost for legal ads in 2016 is $8.18 per column inch.
• All publication notices are due by noon on Tuesday for publication the following
Thursday.
RECOMMENDATION
All statutory cities are required to designate an official newspaper each year. All required legal documents
and notices for the City of Rosemount will be published in the official newspaper. Based upon the quote
received, staff recommends approval of the above-stated motion.
