ATTACHMENTS: None APPROVED BY: ddj RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve the Labor Agreement for the AFSCME, Local No. 3857 Collective Bargaining Unit for the Years 2016 through 2017 and to Authorize the Necessary Signatures. ISSUE The City of Rosemount and AFSCME, Local No. 3857 have negotiated in good-faith and have come to a tentative agreement. BACKGROUND Negotiations with the AFSCME union have been completed for a 2016 through 2017 contract. The Collective Bargaining Unit and City have reached a tentative agreement on the following items: Sick Leave: Change language to establish a sick leave cap for new hires: There will be no maximum accumulation for sick leave for employees hired prior to January 1, 2016. Employees hired after this date will have a maximum sick leave cap of 800 hours. Funeral Leave: Clarify language to include stepchildren in family listing:…children/stepchildren…. Duration: 2 years (2016 & 2017) Wages: 2.5% increase on January 1, 2016. 2.5% increase on January 1, 2017. SUMMARY The AFSCME members have voted and approved these contract changes. Therefore, it is requested that Council approve the labor agreement for the AFSCME, Local No. 3857 Collective Bargaining Unit for the years 2016 through 2017 and to authorize the necessary signatures.
