ATTACHMENTS: APPROVED BY: ddj RECOMMENDED ACTION: Discussion BACKGROUND: Dakota County representatives will be in attendance to meet with the Council and review current and proposed transportation items occurring in Dakota County and the City. Dakota County Engineer Mark Krebsbach and Assistant County Engineer Brian Sorenson are scheduled to attend the meeting. In coordination with Dakota County staff, a summary of anticipated discussion items has been prepared for Council consideration. • Update on TH 52/CSAH 42 Interchange Improvements The project has received partial funding and construction plans are being prepared for the interim diamond interchange project. Construction is scheduled to occur in 2017 and possibly extend into 2018 depending upon the traffic detour routing method utilized. Recently the project was awarded a $3.1 million Transportation and Economic Development (TED) grant from MNDOT. • Update on TH 55/CSAH 42 Intersection Improvements Update on the long term plan to reroute TH55 to the CSAH 42 corridor. • Pine Bend Corridor Study Update (CR 73 Corridor Study) This project will improve County Road 73 (Akron Avenue) from Bonaire Path to Cliff Road in Rosemount and Inver Grove Heights. Dakota County has prepared a short term plan for the paving Akron along the existing alignment as well as long term scenarios for a four lane road along the existing alignment and along an alternative easterly alignment. • CSAH 42/145th Street Intersection • CSAH 42/Business Parkway/Biscayne Avenue and Frontage Road (149th Street) • CSAH 38 (McAndrews Road) Project • East/West Transit Study
