RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve the Two Resolutions Relating to
Application for Redevelopment Incentive Grant Funding Through the Dakota County
Community Development Agency
SUMMARY
Staff is proposing to apply for two grants through the Dakota County Community Development Agency
Redevelopment Incentive Grant (RIG) program. The program allows cities to apply for one development
grant and one planning grant. Staff is will be submitting a grant to aid in installation of the on-street diagonal
parking along the eastside of Cameo Avenue, adjacent to The Rosemount. The concept was investigated
when the redevelopment projects were discussed but funding was at issue. There is adequate right of way to
install the parking but the curb line and sidewalk would need to be shifted east. The property owner is aware
staff is submitting the grant application.
The other application is for a planning grant to assist in updating of the 2004 Development Framework for
Downtown Rosemount. Updating of the Study will result in a stand- alone document which will serve as a
blueprint for development decisions in the Downtown. However, the exercise and Study will also be used as
part of the City’s upcoming Comprehensive Plan update and portions would be included in the economic
development section of the Update.

Motion to approve the two resolutions.
