BACKGROUND
The City of Rosemount Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) was last updated in 2009. Since the last
update, Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management have made
numerous changes. In 2015, Minnesota Plan Crosswalk (MNWALK) will be drastically changed.
These changes required the Rosemount’s Emergency Operations Plan to be completely overhauled.
SUMMARY
In 2015 the City of Rosemount partnered with the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office Emergency
Preparedness to ensure our EOP is Minnesota Homeland Security Emergency Management
compliant; this included both State and/or Federal requirements. Working with Dakota County the
last year we were able to develop a new Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) for the City of
Rosemount. It is the goal of Dakota County Emergency Preparedness for cities in Dakota County to
have similar plans. Although it is unique to the City of Rosemount it has a number of similarities to
other cities who are partnered with Dakota County Sheriff’s Office.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Council approve and adopt the new Emergency Operations Plan.
