Park Improvement Fund Balance as of March 31, 2016: $456,659.44 Inflows to the Pa,rk Improvement Fund la.st month were as follows: Dedication fees—$44,503 Grants/Other- $0 Interest-$32.63 Donations - $0 E�enditures - $1,728.50 (design fees for Greystone Park and Ailesbury Park) Health Fair-The Parks and Recreation Department participated in the annual Red Pine Elementary Health and Fitness Fair on Saturday April 9. T'he Parks and Recrea,tion Department staffed an information booth promoting all our summer pxograms,activities,parks and t�ails. We also had a game for the kids to pla,y to win prizes while the pa.rents asked questions and picked up flyers and brochures. Ice Out-The Rosemount Ice Arena will have the ice out for maintenance from Monday,May 9 until Sunday, June 12. Garden Plots -We received 68 applications for garden plots this year. Since our goal was to accommodate as ma,ny gardeners as possible,we asked all the applicants to list more than one choice for location and plot size. In the end,41 applicants were assigned their first choice,25 theix second choice,and only 2 had to be satisfied with their third choice. Even though the weather has been nice we will wait a little while to have the plots tilled so they do not become overgrown with weeds before the gardeners can get into them, as they did last season. Batting Cage -The batting cage netting has been hung on the recendy repaired batting cage at Jaycee Park. Work will soon resume at Ailesbury (formerly Prestwick) Park. Letters have been sent to homeowners along the southeast end of the park asking them to look at the planting plan and to get back to us if they have any comments about tree pla,cement. Work is expected to begin again by the end of April. Parks and Recreation Commission—At our meeting in May,the Parks and Recreation Commission will need to choose a chairperson and vice chairperson. Both positions will serve one yeax terms. Bike Tour of Parks—The City Council has suggested the Parks and Recxeation Commission along with the City Council take a bike tour of some of City parks. Staff would li.ke to discuss the interest of the Commission in going on such a tour. Arbor Day—Oux annual Axbor Day tree give away will take place on Saturday,May 7 at 10 am.The event takes place at the public woxks shop just north of City Hall on Brazil Ave. The City will be giving away 180 trees. The first 180 residents who have proof of tesidency will get trees. Dog Park—One of the Projects and Initiatives that was included in the 2016 -2017 City Council goals was to open a dog paxk for small dogs along walking corridoxs. This item will be on our May 23 agenda for discussion. Staff has been researching locations, dog paxk rules,and facility best practices in preparation fox our May discussion. Please join us... He has oversight of social services, public health, community corrections, income maintenance, child support, veteran services, and 4-H/extension programs. He has been working over the past five years toward moving their organization and community of human serving providers into a fully integrated service delivery model of care using their Community Service Value Curve & Self-Sufficiency Matrix.
