Park Improvement Fund Balance as of April 30, 2016: $441,821.59 Inflows to the Park Improvement Fund last month were as follows: Dedication fees—$0 Grants/Other- $0 Interest-$45.76 Donations - $0 Expenditures - $8,382.61 (design fees for Greystone Paxk and Ailesbury Park improvements) Ice Out-The ice will be out from Monday,May 9 until Sunda.y,June 12 for maintenance. Ice out projects include: New skate tile in the bench a,rea,repainting of ice sheet markings on the cement floor,ice sheet yellow kick plate repla,cement,deep clean of ice arena and repainting of walls in ice arena. Senior Trip-A group of 48 senioxs from Rosemount,FarYnuigton,Lakeville and Apple Valley traveled to Harmony,MN on Friday,April 29, to learn about the Amish cultute and tour their community. 'I'he trip included lunch at the Harmony House resta,urant,a guided toux through the Amish countryside,and stops at multiple Amish shops. Participants were able to interact with members of the Amish community and purchase Amish goods. This has been our most popular and well-attended trip so far this year. Ailesbury Park-Work at Ailesbury (formerly Prestwick) Park has begun aga.in for the season.The footings for the picnic shelter have been insta,lled, and grading and landscaping/tree planting has begun. Rosemount Veterans' Memorial Walk—Sta,ff were recendy contacted by representatives of the Rosemount Veterans'Memorial Walk.They have indicated that they are working on plans to change the focus of the project from what currendy highlights eight rest and reflection areas (see attached map) to what will be ten rest and reflection areas that will be focused on the ten Bill of Rights. They axe currendy working on updating theit plans which will be shared with the Commission once they are received by staff. Bird House Inspections - I�or the last few�veeks Parks and Rec staff inembeYs have been checkin�the bluebird houses at Sch�varz Pond Park once a�veek. 1'here aYe 16 bluebird nesting bo�es at Sch�varz Pond Park and three have bluebird eggs in them. Several otheYs have nests that have no eggs in them yet. When staff checked Yecendy they found an adult bluebird on the nest in one boY. The bird would not leave in spite of staff knocking on the box and opening the front.
