CALL TO ORDER: Eliason called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. 2. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: None. 3. APPROVAL OF THE OCTOBER 27, 2014 MEETING MINUTES: MOTION by Bartz to approve the minutes of the October 27, 2014 meeting. SECOND by Farrell. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion passed. 4. AUDIENCE INPUT: None 5. DISCUSSION (Response to Audience Input): None 6. OLD BUSINESS: a. Old Business — Review Parks and Recreation Fees — The 2014 Parks and Recreation fee schedule was included in this month's packet along with fee comparison spreadsheets for the Community Center, Indoor Ice Arena, and Parks. At the meeting, Schultz handed out a comparison spreadsheet for audiovisual fees. The following were recommended: Banquet Hall fees - Increase $50 for all days/fee categories. The last increase was in 2010; Gym fees - Increase all categories by $5/hour. Classroom fees - No increase. Audiovisual fees — No increase. Schultz felt that our fees are reasonable based on the equipment we have available. Indoor Ice Arenas fees — Keep the fees the same for 2015. We increased these fees last year. Consider increasing by $10 for 2016. Dan will check with the hockey association to see if they would prefer a smaller increase of $5 each year, or a larger increase of $10 every other year. Park fees — No increase. MOTION by Farrell that we increase the Banquet Hall fees by $50 for each category and Gym fees by $5 for each category. SECOND by Eliason. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion passed. 7. NEW BUSINESS: a. Director's Report - The Parks Improvement Fund Balance as of October 31, 2014 was $260,253.99. No dedication fees were received. No grants were received. Interest for the month was $4.21. There were no donations. There were expenditures of $1,730.00 for UMore Ball Fields, Erickson Park Tennis Courts, and Prestwick Park. Friday Night Live — This event for middle school-age kids was held on Friday, October 24. There was a Halloween theme that included a costume contest. Approximately 160 kids attended. This was a good turnout considering there were many other activities going on in Rosemount that night, including a football game. Mother/Son Lego Event — Co -hosted by the SORR cities of Apple Valley, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville, Rosemount and Savage, this Lego -themed party included dancing, and a variety of games and crafts. 185 moms and sons attended. A daddy/daughter event is scheduled for February 2015. -1- PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION November 24, 2014 Regular Meeting Jaycee Park — A temporary ice rink is currently being installed at Jaycee Park. Prestwick Park — The playground equipment is 70% installed. The 6-12 year old area is in, and the 2-5 year area is almost done. ADJOURNMENT - MOTION by Bartz to adjourn the meeting. SECOND by Tilson.
