CALL TO ORDER: Eliason called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. 2. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: None. 3. APPROVAL OF THE July 27, 2015 MEETING MINUTES: MOTION by Bartz to approve the minutes of the July 27,2015 meeting. SECOND by Tilson. Ayes: 3 Nays: 0 Morion passed. 4. AUDIENCE INPUT: None 5. DISCUSSION (Response to Audience Input): None 6. OLD BUSINESS: None 7. NEW BUSINESS: a. Steeple Center Fees—Per Schultz,we're about a month and a half away from opening the new Steeple Center facility. Schultz described the rooms that will be available for rental at the Steeple Center and reviewed the current fees and the proposed fees for new facility. (We will review the rest of the fee schedule in November.) Schultz explained that the rental fees for the Steeple Center are lower than those at the Communiry Center because the rooms are smaller and have a lower capaciry. There is also a separate additional charge for the use of the kitchen at the Steeple Center. The Commission thought we should review the Steeple Center fees and look at resetting them after the first year of use. Schultz agreed. Nelson added that he felt all groups using the Community Center,Steeple Center, tennis courts, etc., should pay to use the space. Schultz briefly discussed staffing at the new facility. We will have staff at both places at first and once we see what is needed, we will adjust staffing accoxdingly. MOTION by Bartz to recommend the City set the new rental fees for the Steeple Center as presented in the Parks and Recreation Coininission packet. SECOND by Tilson. Ayes: 3 Nays: 0 Morion passed. b. Director's Report—The park improvement fund balance as of July 31 was $210,167.37. Parks dedication fees were $113,080.37. Thexe was intexest of$5.42. There were no grants or donations. Expenditures were $4,799.34 for Prestwick Paxk axchitectural fees and installation of electric door Iocks at the Central Park Sheltex. Erickson Park Tennis Courts -A ribbon cutting ceremony took place at the new tenrus couxts on 08-10-15. There was good attendance at the event and people had positive comments about the courts. Movie in the Park—The final movie in the paxk for this summer,Frozen,included a Frozen- themed parry with snow-cones and an appearance by Elsa. r�ppro�mately 225 people enjoyed the event. Recycling at Leprechaun Days—Once again this year recycling during Leprechaun Days recycling was a high prioriry and our effoYts were very successful. Dakota County uses our recycling efforts as an example foY others because we have such a successful recycling program. 8. ADJOURNMENT - MOTION by Bartz to adjourn the meeting.
