CALL TO ORDER: Eliason called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. 2. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: None. 3. APPROVAL OF THE JUNE 22, 2009 MEETING MINUTES: MOTION by Bartz to approve the minutes of the June 22,2009 meeting. SECOND by Eisold. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion passed. 4. AUDIENCE INPUT: None 5. DISCUSSION (Response to Audience Input): None 6. OLD BUSINESS: a. B�OCkWBy Pa�k P18yg�0Ut1d EqUlp111et1t—Schuster reviewed the bidding process and explained that only traditional equipment proposals were submitted. Eight companies submitted 10 proposals. Two of the eight companies submitted alternate proposals that acknowledged the former Brockway Glass Company or Brockway Golf Course. Schuster,Eisold and Bartz met last week to review the proposals. They each scored the proposals, and based on the scores, they chose the proposal submitted by Flanagan Sales. Schuster reviewed each of the plans that was submitted,pointed out the pros and cons of each,and explained the criteria that were used to rate them. The Commission agreed that the plan submitted by Flanagan Sa1es,using Little Tykes equipment,was the best option. MOTION by Eisold to recommend that the City Council approve the purchase of play equipment for Brockway Park as submitted by Flanagan Sales for Little Tykes Equipment. SECOND by Bartz. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion passed. The Commission agreed that the following colors should be used for the play equipment: Burgundy posts,forest green canopy and slides,tan small climbing pieces and vertical panels,and dark brown decks. b. BI'OCkWBy Pel'k SU11 ShelteY—Schuster provided a photo of a shelter that will be similar to the one to be built at Brockway Park and explained some of the details we axe looking at,i.e., it will have a steep roof pitch, square steel posts (with decorative masonry to be added),and asphalt shingles over wooden decking. Six bids were received,with the lowest being St. Croix Recreation at$26,984.00. Schuster provided a photo of the community building in the development and mentioned that we are keeping this building in mind when choosing the shelter design and colors,so that the two structures are complementary. MOTION by Strayton to recommend that the City purchase the sun shelter from St. Croix Recreation who provided the lowest bid. SECOND by Knight. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion passed. 7. ADJOURNMENT MOTION by Bartz to adjourn the meeting. SECOND by Eisold. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion passed.
