BACKGROUND
Attached for your information is the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Annual Report for
2015. This report outlines the requirements for the maintenance and operation of the storm sewer system,
as well as the city’s actions towards meeting those requirements in 2015. This report is required by the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to be submitted by June 30 of each year as part of the City’s National
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit.
A requirement of the NPDES Permit is to conduct an annual public informational meeting to invite public
input on the City’s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). This meeting was held on April 27,
2015. There we no attendees.
SUMMARY
Staff recommends that City Council approve the 2015 MS4 Annual Report and authorize the submittal of
the report to the MPCA.
