BACKGROUND
The City begins updating its 10 year Capital Improvements Plan each year during the late summer and fall
months. There are a number of park and recreation projects that have been discussed over the past year
including the projects proposed in the recent unsuccessful referendum, the proposed Dakota Fieldhouse, a
turf/domed field, recirculation of water at the splash pad, and potential dog parks.
Staff wishes to update the council on the status of several of these items, and begin discussion of projects
to be considered in the next several years with the limited funds that may be available.
We would also like to discuss whether or not the Council is interested in an updated community survey
that might assist us in making plans and setting priorities for both park and recreation projects as well as
other citywide projects. The last community survey was conducted in 2014.
