RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve street closings for the Kiddie Parade,
Parade and Big Wheel Races as part of the 2016 Leprechaun Days Celebration and to add
the events listed below to the 2016 Leprechaun Days Service Agreement.
ISSUE
In the spring of 2016, the City Council approved a service agreement with the Leprechaun Days
Committee. As in years past, street closing requests and the addition of events to the service agreement
have been brought to the City Council for approval.
SUMMARY
The current requests for street closings include:
1.Kidde Parade – Sunday, July 24 - 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, 147th Street starting at the northeast
entrance to the United Methodist Church and south on Canada Ave. to the south entrance to the
church.
2.Big Wheel, Trike and Scooter Races plus Penny Scramble - Wednesday, July 27 - 5:00 pm to 8:30
pm, Burma Ave. from 145th St. to 146th St.
3.Parade - Saturday, July 30 - 9:30 am to 2:15 pm
Starting at RHS – Chili Ave. south to 145th St., 145th St. from Cimarron Ave. to Cameo Ave.,
Cameo Ave. north to RMS
The Committee has also requested that the activities listed below be added to the service agreement:
Baseball Tourney – Rsmt Pipers
Bingo – RHS Foundation
Brat Sale – RHS Marching Band
Crazy Hair – Nivala Salon
Hamster Races – Fluegels
Human Foosball Tourney – Operation Homefront
Karaoke – Legion
Lacrosse Tourney-Girls – Rsmt Youth Lacrosse
Punt, Pass, Kick Competition – RHS Football Boosters
Root Beer Floats – The Rosemount
Soccer Alumni Game Boys/Girls – RHS
UltraScreen Dragon & Dino Night – Marcus Cinema
