Staff recently met with representatives from the Rosemount High School (RHS) Foundation and RHS
staff to discuss their plans to celebrate the school’s 100 year anniversary. They are planning the Centennial
Celebration to take place on September 22 and 23 of 2017. The plans for the festivities are in the early
stages of planning but some of the activities being considered include:
Friday, September 22 –
•RHS Pep Fest
•Alumni Dance/Party in the Park
Saturday, September 23
•Tours of the school
•Choir and Band concerts
•Food Trucks/Pig Roast
•3k Fun Run
•Girls and Boys Soccer games
•Girls Swim meet
•Girls Tennis match
•Volleyball game
•Varsity Football game
•Fireworks after the football game
•Alumni/Community Social after the football game
Those working on the plans for the celebration have asked that the City of Rosemount consider assisting
with some of the community events such as the Alumni Dance/Party in the Park, the Alumni/Community
Social after the football game and possibly other events. The assistance could possibly be provided by
offering some in-kind services from the Police, Public Works, Fire and Parks and Recreation Departments.
Representatives from the planning committee will be in attendance at the work session to discuss this
topic in further detail.
