Installation of an electronic sign on 145th Street near the City Hall/Central Park entrance that can be used
for events and government meetings is one of the City Council Projects and Initiatives for their City’s
2016-2017 goals.
This topic was discussed by the City Council as an update item late this summer at a work session meeting.
Council members expressed support for various styles of signs; staff has brought back two designs that
staff recalls being favored by the City Council. The two designs include an electronic display that is three
feet tall by seven feet wide. The electronic display portion of the sign would be the same height as the
Steeple Center sign but would be 12 inches longer. The signs can only be increased or decreased by 12
inches due to the size of the display modules.
The estimated cost for the sign without the vertical brick on one end of the sign is $38,000. If the vertical
brick is added, the cost would increase approximately $800.
Staff would like for the City Council to discuss the topic of a new sign at City Hall/Central Park and
provide direction to staff as to how the City should move forward with this item.
