RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve out-of-state travel expenses forthe Mayorto
accompanyState Legislators to Edmonton in Alberta, Canada on October 13-15,2016.
BACKGROUND
Mayor Droste has been informed that a number of State Legislators plan to visit the Enerkem facility in
Edmonton October 13-15`h and he has been invited to join the group. Enerkem is a companythat made a
presentation to the City Council earlier this year regarding a proposal for turning waste into biofuel. They
have a working facility in Edmonton but few if any similar facilities in the United States. Mayor Droste
believes it would advantageous to accept the invitation to join the Legislators. Council approval is
required for any out-of-state travel.
