The webinar was sponsored by a company that assists in web mapping-GIS Planning. They indicated that the web needs to be updated on a regular basis and also recommended a more robust social media campaign. Staff does work to update the ED website on a somewhat regular basis when demographic information comes up. However, we do need to do a better job on keeping up with new developments in the community. Another piece of information is an analysis that Alan Cox our Communications Coordinator reviewed with 10 suggestions and has responded to each. The assessment is attached. Finally, relating to website work, in response to interests by the Port Authority members,staff has begun compiling a business directory to post on the website. The directory highlights local businesses and gives them an opportunity to provide some brief information about their company. At this time, we are requesting business owners provide necessary information to the City so that we capture their interests; we have approximately 50 businesses who responded.
