RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve an additional 60 day medical leave of
absence for firefighter Pat Miller
SUMMARY
Firefighter Pat Miller has been on a medical leave of absence from his duties since June 20,
2016 and is at this time in need of extending his leave to November 17, 2016. Miller was
approved of a 90 day medical leave of absence thus far per department personnel policy.
According to the fire department personnel policy, a medical leave of more than 60 days
requires city council approval. Medical documentation has been received to warrant approval
of an additional 60 days which will put him at a total of 150 days of medical leave from the
department.
I am requesting approval for an extension of medical leave for Pat Miller from September
18th to November 17, 2016.
