Park Improvement Fund Balance as of September 30, 2016: $403,543.98 Inflows to the Park Impxovement Fund last month were as follows: Dedication fees—$95,200 Grants/Other- $0 Interest-$59.15 Donations -$0 Expenditures -$3,998.92 (Camfield Park Gaga Pit and Ailesbury Park Construction) Sidewalk Along 145`�Street West at Brazil Avenue—Staff from the City's Engineering Department have indicated that the railroad company is making improvements to the tracks at the location whexe the pYoposed sidewalks will be installed. Once the rail improvements are complete, the City will move forward with the installation of a five foot sidewalk on the north side of the road and an eight foot sidewalk on the south side the of the road. Sta.ff is expecting these sidewalks will be installed in 2017. Off Leash Dog Areas—Sta.ff recently held a meeting to discuss the City Council's direction to open two off leash dog axeas at Jaycee and Bloomfield parks in the hockey rinks with boards and a grass surface.The meetings went well and only two people showed up. Both were in favor of moving forwaxd. Staff had sent out oveY 350 direct mail meeting notices to the xesidents living within 500 feet of the pa,Yk.The off leash opportunity is being offered on a seasonal basis. The areas are open now until the City starts the pYeparation of the rinks for ice skating in la,te November. The areas will open again in the spring. The ISD #196 Community Education District Wide Advisory Council -T'he ISD #196 Community Education District Wide Advisory Council met last night for the first meeting of the school year.A staff person from Rosemount Parks and Recreation is a representative on this council, along with staff from the YMCA,Eagan and Apple Valley Parks and Rec, RAAA, Community Education Sta,ff and membexs at large. The purpose of this council is to advise and assist the Community Education Department in the fulfillment of the community education mission of providing quality lifelong learning opportunities for all residents. Fall Clean Up - Rosemount's annual f��all Clean-up Day was held on Saturday, October 1st at the Public Wotks l�acilin-. r�t our Clean-up c�ents,in addition to trash,�ve accept and recycle construction debris, bicycles, mattresses, carpet, scrap metal, appliances, and electronics. We serviced 208 vehicles at the event, the a�erage number for the last se��eral fall clean-ups. '1'he da�-was beautiful and clear. This kind of weather usuall� helps our numbeYs in the spring but sometimes keeps our numbeYs down in the fall when people find �ther things to do on such nice day�s. Eagle Seout Projeets — Eagle Scout candidates �vere busy over the weekend of OctobeY 15-16. �t the disc golf course, Seth GoYman and his ciew constructed a hard surfaced tce pad for the sisth hole. '1'he City Rosemount ptovided some base material and Seth provided the leveling sand and the paveYs. Seth and his cre�v exca�-ated the area, spread the base material and sand, and placed the pa�-ers. A.r..� .:�"6'a�x At Camfield PaYk, Manny r�ndeYson and his cYew of volunteers built a gaga pit Uaga ball is a game some�vhat like dodge ball but it is play-ed�vith a soft bouncy ball and is players use an octagonal coutt or gaga pit. The City of Rosemount pYo�rided the brackets for the court and the�voodchips for its base. Manny and his crew xemoved the grass in the court location, provided the lumber for the court and assembled it, and spread the�voodchips in it Thc court is a nicc addition to Camfield Park. ��.
