EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR ACTION
January 4, 2005
ISSUE
Statutory cities are required annually to appoint a Council Member to the position of Acting
Mayor to conduct meetings in the Mayor's absence.
BACKGROUND
Council Member Riley was Acting Mayor in 2003 and Council Member Mark DeBettignies
held the position in 2004. Council has discussed rotating this position This year we have
two new Council Members, Mike Baxter and Phillip Sterner. Council Member Kim Shoe
Corrigan would be the rotation candidate for Acting Mayor.
SUMMARY
Mayor Droste is recommending the appointment of Council Member Shoe Corrigan as
Acting Mayor.
