ACTION:
BACKGROUND
This is a recommendation to appoint Jeffrey Wendel to the position of Fire Department
Secretary for another three years. His current term expired at the end of March, and
according to Fire Department policy, the secretary is to be selected from applicants meeting
the minimum qualifications for the position.
In this application process, Mr. Wendel was the single applicant. He has been secretary for
four years and a member of the department since 9997. He is well qualified to continue in
the position and it is thereby recommended that his assignment to the position of secretary
be confirmed by the Council.
Also for Council's consideration is the attached list of suggested names for fire department
officers, committee members and coordinators. Chief Aker used evaluation information and
then consulted with the captains to determine who would fill each position.
SUMMARY
The Fire Department requests that Council approve the assignment of Jeffrey Wendel as Fire
Department Secretary for a period of three years and appoint the attached listing of officers,
committee members, and coordinators.
