RECOMMENDED ACTION Motion to Accept Bid from Nitti Sanitation Inc. an Authorize Entering into a Contract With Them for Solid Waste and Recycling Services. ACTION: ISSUE 2005 2006 Contract for Solid Waste and Recycling Services at city buildings, facilities, and parks. BACKGROUND The current Solid Waste and Recycling contract with Highland Sanitation and Recycling Inc. expires on April 30, 2005. It has been several years since this service has been out for bid. Last month, bid requests were sent to all of the waste haulers with 2005 Rosemount Haulers Licenses. We received response from two haulers explaining that they appreciated the opportunity to bid on this work but that this was not the type of service they provide. We did receive two bids for solid waste and recycling services, one from Nitti Sanitation and the other from Dicks Sanitation. Nitti Sanitation Inc. provided the low bid of $1,359.85 per month. The bid from Dick's Sanitation Inc. was $1,761.18. We did not receive a bid from Highland Sanitation, the previous contract holder. The new contract will provide for single sort recycling. The new contract will be in effect from May 1, 2005 until December 31, 2006.
