EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR ACTION
City Council Work Session Date March 9, 2005
ISSUE
Purchasing new park signs was put on hold until the City reviewed our marketing efforts and
use of the City logo
SUMMARY
The City has a new Marketing Visual Identity System (VIS or logo) The VIS was sent to the
low bidder on parks signs (Plastic Lumber Cc and they drafted a few sample park signs
Attached are the final designs for City park signs as recommend by the Commission Three
different sized signs will be used based on the function of the park mini, neighborhood or
community Staff recommended, and the Commission agreed, that a white border be added
to the signs to help break up the solid green color of the signs The signs will be installed with
a landscaped border
In the spring of 2005, staff plans to install new signs at the Family Resource Center,
Bloomfield Park, Birch Park, Claret Park, Jaycee Park and Winds Park
