Houses on March 29 and 31, 2005 from 6 30 p m to 8 00 p m
and set a Special Meeting
on May 25, 2005 at 6 30 p m for the purpose of considering sale and award of bonds for
Fire Station #2
ACTION:
ISSUE
Council has directed City staff to proceed with construction planning for Fire Station #2
Fire Station #2 will benefit the safety and well -being of residents by better serving the
expanding urban residential areas and the eastern side of Rosemount
BACKGROUND
The Capital Improvement Plan has listed a second fire station in the budget since 1997
The residential growth east of Highway 3 has increased the need for a fire station. Also,
the railroad line has the potential to hinder fire service on the eastern side
A concept plan for the fire station is available and the site has been purchased The
location is east of Highway 3 on Connemara Trail at Azalea Avenue The debt service
impact is about $25 a year for a home valued at $214,000
SUMMARY
The City of Rosemount has planned for a second fire station to meet public safety needs
as the community grows Informational meetings are recommended to be held Tuesday,
March 29 and Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 6 30 p m at the City Hall
A special meeting will be needed for the acceptance of bond bids and awarding the bonds
This is recommended for Wednesday, May 25, 2005, 6 30 p m. at City Hall
Staff recommends approving the meeting schedule with the above motion.

Notice is hereby given that the Rosemount City Council will be attending Open Houses on
Tuesday, March 29 and Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 6 30 p m at City Hall, 2875 145
Street West, Rosemount, Minnesota The purpose of these meetings is to present
information regarding the building of anew fire station on Connemara Trail City Council
and city staff will be available to answer questions

on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 6 30 p m at City Hall, 2875 145"' Street West,
Rosemount, Minnesota
The purpose of this Special Meetings is to consider the acceptance of bond bids and
awarding the bond sale for the purpose of building a satellite fire station on Connemara
Trail
