City Council Meeting: October 4, 2005
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
BACKGROUND:
On August 1, 2005, Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for the above
referenced project.
The plans and specifications address the construction of street and utihty improvements necessary for the
development of GlenRose of Rosemount Addition residential development located east of Trunk Highway
3 and south of Connemara Trail As presented m the Feasibility Report, the project will also include the
extension of sanitary sewer and water service to existing residential properties along Trunk Highway 3.
The proposed improvements include the construction of streets that include concrete curb and gutter and
5 -foot concrete sidewalks Utility improvements mclude the construction of lateral storm sewer, sanitary
sewer and trunk watermain. The GlenRose developer, Dean Johnson, will be funding all costs associated
with the street and lateral utility improvements within the development Costs associated with the
extension of lateral sanitary sewer and water service to the existing residential properties is proposed to be
assessed As previously presented in the Feasibility Report for the GlenRose Utility Improvements, City
Core Funds will be ut for trunk fac oversizmg
A copy of the plans is on file in the Engineering Department.
SUMMARY
Staff recommends that Council receive the plans and specifications and authorize the advertising of bid for
the project.

RESOLUTION 2005
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR
GLENROSE STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT #397
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount have ordered the preparation of plans and
specifications for GlenRose Street and Utility Improvements, City Project #397 and such plans and
specificauons have been presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file m the office of the City
Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted m the official City newspaper and the Construction
Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans
and specifications for City Project #397.
3 The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than three (3)
weeks before the date set for opening bids, shall specify the work to be done, shall state the bids will be
publicly opened on October 28, 2005 at 10:00 o'clock a.m at the Rosemount City Hall in said City and
that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash
deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five (5 percent of
the amount of such bid.
