RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to set a Special City Council meeting for Oc ober 12,
2005 at 6:30 p.m. and posting notice to change the start time of the regular council work
session to immediately follow this meeting. The purpose of Special City Council meeting
will be to receive bids for the construction of Fire Station #2 and City Hall remodeling
project and award contracts

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
ISSUE
The bid opening for the construction of Fire Station #2 was held on September 29, 2005. A few of the
bids came in considerably higher than had been ongtnally estimated by AMCON. Following the tegular
meeting on October 4, a Special City Council Work Session will be held to discuss the construction
project. Todd Chnstopherson from AMCON and architect Mark Vetter will be present to discuss the
results of the bid opening and options Council may want to consider as the City goes forth in construction
of this project.
In an attempt to stay on schedule staff is requesting a Special City Council Meeting be set at 6:30 p.m.,
October 12 for Council to consider awarding some of the fire station construction and City Hall
remodeling contracts. The regularly scheduled work session will immediately follow the special Council
meeting
