City Engineer 1� AGED li PREPARED ATTACHMENTS: Map APPROVED BY: v RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to adopt the 2006 -2010 5 -Year Street C.I.P. 4 ROSE MOUNT City Council Meeting' June 21, 2005 BACKGROUND CITY COUNCIL EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Currently, the City's Pavement Management System has been updated to reflect field ratings that were completed in 2004. Based on the results of the Pavement Management System, Staff has developed a proposed 5 -Year Capital Improvement Program (C I P for pavement management projects that include overlays, rehabilitation and reconstruction. The goal of the 5 -Year C.I.P. is to allow the City to provide more detailed information farther in advance to affected property owners and to allow the project development to begin sooner to allow more time for the design and public involvement. With a Council adopted 5 -Year C.I.P., Staff anticipates beginning the project planning process 9 to 12 months m advance of the desired construction commencement date as opposed to the current 5 to 6 month project planning process. A map showing the streets proposed to be included in the 2006 -2010 C.I.P. is attached. If adopted by Council, it is Staff's intention to post this map on the City web page along with a descnption of the City's Pavement Management System.
