EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
BACKGROUND
The Apple Valley, Farmington and Rosemount Cable and Telecommunications Commission authorized an
audit of franchise fees paid by Charter Communications.
ISSUE
The accounting firm of HLB Tautges Redpath, Ltd. has completed a review of franchise fees paid by
Charter Communications to each of the partnering communises on the AVFR Cable Commission.
Findings were presented to the commission on Wednesday, June 1.
Cable Coordinator Mark Moore and city attorney Bob Vose of Kennedy Graven will be present at the
City Council Work Session to provide an overview of the findings and imphcations.
SUMMARY
This item is informational for the Council Staff requests to be directed to continue working with the
other members of the AVFR Cable Commission to seek a response from Charter Communications
regarding the recommendations of the auditor.
