ROSEMOUNT YOUTH COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS
NOVEMBER 16, 2016
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was
th
held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 3:47 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room, 2875 145
Street West, Rosemount.
Commissioner Schalliol called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners Alex, Armstrong,
Demuth, Hinderaker, Johnson, Mitchell, Nelson, Peterson, Powell, Saal, Turner and Westman
present. Staff Liaison Foster, Police Sergeant Ryan Coughlin, former Council Member Shoe-
Corrigan and Recording Secretary Anne Hayes were also present. Commissioners Edgar, Wuellner
and Yambing were absent.
ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA
Motion Schalliol. Second by Westman.
Motion to Adopt the Agenda.
Ayes: 13
Nays: 0. Absent: 3 Motion carried.
AUDIENCE INPUT
None.
CONSENT AGENDA
Motion by Schalliol. Second by Peterson.
Motion to approve the Consent Agenda.
Ayes: 13
Nays: 0. Absent: 3. Motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
None.
NEW BUSINESS
7.a. Police Presentation
Sergeant Ryan Coughlin discussed school safety, bullying, department operations and the
Rosemount Youth Explorer Program with the Youth Commission. He also presented and explained
equipment worn by officers and answered questions from the Youth Commissioners.
7.b. RAAC Tree Lighting Event
Staff Liaison Foster reviewed the upcoming Tree Lighting event to be held on November 19.
Youth Commissioners will be on hand to provide music and help with refreshments.
Foster also sent 4 pictures of tree markers around the table for the Commissioners to vote on. The
Commissioners’ selection will be passed on to the Parks Department.
7.c. Roundtable Discussion
Each Commissioner gave a short statement regarding their various current activities, including
sports, jobs, church activities and school events.

None.
8.b. Next Meeting Date
The next meeting of the Youth Commission is scheduled for December 21, 2016 at 3:45 p.m. in the
Council Chambers.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Schalliol and seconded by Westman
that the meeting be adjourned. The motion carried unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at
4:48 p.m.
