ROSEMOUNT YOUTH COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS
April 27, 2016
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was
held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 3:47 p.m. in the Steeple Center, Room 200, 14375 S. Robert
Trail, Rosemount.
Chairperson Schalliol called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners Alex, Busho, M.
Demuth, S. Demuth, Hinderaker, Munson, Westman, Wuellner and Jaren Yambing present. Staff
Liaison Foster, Council Member Weisensel, and Recording Secretary Hayes were present.
Commissioners Andrews, Corrigan, Radosevich, Saal and Joan Yambing were absent. Former
Council Member Shoe-Corrigan arrived at 4:12 p.m.
ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA
None.
Motion by Schalliol. Second by Wuellner.
Motion to Adopt the Agenda.

Nays: 0. Absent: 5 Motion carried.

Motion by Schalliol. Second by Hinderaker.
Motion to approve the Consent Agenda.
a. Minutes of March 16, 2016 Youth Commission Meeting

OLD BUSINESS
5. Introduction to Recreation Coordinator Stephanie Baumann and Steeple Center tour.
Recreation Coordinator Baumann educated the Youth Commissioners on various programs and
events held at the facility. Baumann then led a tour of the Steeple Center for the commissioners.
NEW BUSINESS
6.a. Preparation for Next Term
Current Youth Commission members were encouraged to come with ideas to share with new
commissioners in order to pass the “baton” at the May Youth Commission meeting. The May
meeting of the Youth Commission will be the last meeting for the current Commission and the first
meeting for the new commission.
Eight existing commissioners have reapplied for the next Commission term, and eight new
candidates have applied. Foster reminded the commissioners that have reapplied to serve on the
th
next commission term that interviews were scheduled for Monday, May 9 at 3:45 p.m. in the same
room (Room 200/201) at the Steeple Center. Pizza will be served. The interviews will be a round-
table discussion with the City Council.
Weisensel mentioned that Chair Schalliol will be presenting a commission report to the City Council
at one of the upcoming City Council meetings. A discussion was held to review Youth Commission
accomplishments of the year and to encourage follow-up with previously mentioned goals for Arbor
Day Tree Planting, Splash Pad Opening Day event, and Fall Bonfire event.
6.b. Roundtable Discussion
Each Commissioner gave a short statement regarding their various current activities, including AP
tests, ACTs, field trips, sporting events, school play and volunteer activities.

7.b. Next Meeting Date
The next meeting of the Youth Commission is scheduled for May 25, 2016 at 3:45 p.m. in the
Council Chambers.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Schalliol and seconded by Yambing that
the meeting be adjourned. The motion carried unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at 4:39
p.m.
