EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
ISSUE
Council is asked to set a date for a public hearing to consider an application for a new off
sale 3.2% malt liquor license at ALDI's, 14995 South Robert Trail.
BACKGROUND
ALDI's Inc. Minnesota has submitted an application for a off -sale 3.2% liquor license for a
grocery store located in the Steiner Development, Rosemount Crossing, at the cross streets
of Highway 3 and County Road 42. The 3.2% malt liquor license will be valid until June
30, 2006. ALDI's grand opening is scheduled for August 4, 2005.
Police Chief Kalstabakken has indicated that the investigation is in the final stages and he
will advise Council of the outcome at the Public Hearing.
Additional information will be provided at the time of the public hearing. The public
hearing requires a ten day advanced published nonce.
SUMMARY
Staff recommends holding a Public Hearing to consider the application for off -sale 3.2%
malt liquor license on August 1, 2005 at the regular City Council meeting.

ADMINISTRATION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City Council of the City of Rosemount will
conduct a public hearing at 7:30 p.m on Monday, August 1, 2005, in the Council Chambers
at City Hall, 2875 145 Street West, Rosemount, Minnesota.
This public hearing is being held to consider a new Off -Sale 3.2% Malt Liquor License for
ALDI Inc Minnesota for ALDI Foods Store #61. The location of the store is at the
northwest corner of County Road 42 and Highway 3.
Comments will be taken from persons desiring to be heard with reference to the above
hearing item. Written comments will be accepted up to the time of the hearing and will be
included in the discussion at this hearing.
