BACKGROUND:
CITY COUNCIL
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The newly implemented 5 -Year Capital Improvement Program (C.LP.) has designated the streets within
the Edwin Rahn 1 2 and 3` Additions and the Broback 10` Addition for maintenance in 2006. The
pavement condition index (PCI) rating and additional visual inspection will determine if a street will
require an overlay, rehabilitation or a full reconstruction. At this time, Staff is requesting Council
authorization to prepare a feasibility report for the 2006 Pavement Management Project.
Preparation of the feasibility report at this time will allow the City to provide more detailed information
farther in advance to affected property owners and to allow the project development to begin sooner to
allow more time for the design and pubhc involvement. If adopted by Council, the schedule for the 2006
Pavement Management Project will allow for the completion of prehmmary field work m the summer of
2005 and completion of the project documents by February of 2006 for an early spring 2006 construction
start.
A map showing the streets proposed to be included in the 2006 Pavement Management Project is
attached.
SUMMARY:
Staff is requesting Council authorization to prepare a feasibility report for the 2006 Pavement Management
Project.

THE 2006 PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT PROJECT
CITY PROJECT #396
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount deems it necessary to investigate the feasibility of
the 2006 Pavement Management Project, City Project #396.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Staff is directed to have the necessary feasibility report
prepared for the 2006 Pavement Management Project, City Project #396.
