ROSEMOUNT 1 CITY COUNCIL City Council Regular Meeting: February 21, 2006 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY BACKGROUND The attached resolution fists the lowest responsible bids for the Landscaping (C -03); EPDM Roofing and Metal Roofing (C -12 and C -13), Specialties (C -14), HM, Doors, Frames (C -15), Glass and Glazing (C -16); Translucent Wall Panels (C-17); Tiling (C -23); Flooring (C -24); Paint and Coatings (C -25); Acoustical Ceilings (C -26); Lockers (C -27); Lockers (C -27); Architectural Woodwork (C-28); Electric Chain Hoist (C- 29); Spray Insulation (C -30); and Metal Panels (C -31) work for the Fire Station II construction The bids have been checked for accuracy and tabulated By accepting the bids at this time materials can be ordered and construction kept on track for mobilization at the begmnmg of March The construction manager for the protect, AMCON Construction, has prepared a report requesting approval to proceed with the contracts fisted m the attached resolution. At a future meeting, Staff will bring forth an additional contract for Council consideration. SUMMARY The attached resolution lists the lowest responsible bids for select contracts in the construction of Fire Station II. CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 2006 A SECOND RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING SELECT CONTRACTS FOR FIRE STATION II CONSTRUCTION PROJECT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount had ordered the second Advertisement for Bids for the construction of Fire Station II and such bids were opened and read aloud publicly on January 26, 2006, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota, as follows: 1. All bids on the construction of Fire Station 11 have been received and tabulated. 2. The bid from Prescription Landscape in the amount of $49,870 for C -03 Landscaping /Irrigation is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 3. The bid from Weather Proof Systems, Inc. in the amount of $122,749 for C -12 and C -13 EPDM Roofing and Metal Roofing is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 4. The bid from Construction Supply in the amount of $18,187 for C -14 Specialties is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 5. The bid from Bredemus Hardware Company, Inc. in the amount of $34,500 for C- 15 HM, Doors, Frames is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted 6. The bid from Midland Glass Company, Inc. in the amount of $48,706 for C -16 Glass and Glazing is in accordance with the plans and specifications and dvertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 7. The bid from W.L Hall Company in the amount of $22,923 for C -17 Translucent Wall Panels is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 8. The bid from Resch's Tile, Inc. in the amount of $31,794 for C -23 Tiling is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted ATTEST: 9. The bid from Commercial Flooring Services, LLC in the amount of $20,496 for C- 24 Flooring is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 10. The bid from Wasche Commercial Finishes, Inc. in the amount of $29,900 for C- 25 Painting and Coatings is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 11. The bid from Twin City Accoustics, Inc. in the amount of $12,725 for C -26 Acoustical Ceilings is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 12. The bid from Wissota Supply Company, Inc. in the amount of $13,800 for C -27 Lockers is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 13. The bid from R &S Casework, Inc. in the amount of $41,995 for C -28 Architectural Woodwork is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 14. The bid from Superior Crane Corporation in the amount of $7,265 for C -29 Electric Chain Hoist is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 15. The bid from Big Work Companies, Inc. in the amount of $5,630 for C -30 Spray Insulation is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 16. The bid from Minnkota Architectural Products Company in the amount of $31,900 for C -31 Metal Panels is in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids and is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 17. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said bidders in the construction of Fire Station II for and on behalf of the City of Rosemount. C -03 Landscaping /Irrigation Amcon recommends Prescription Landscape for this contract in the amount of $49,870. C -12 and C -13 EPDM Roofing Metal Roofing Amcon recommends Weather Proof Systems, Inc. for these contracts in the amount of $122,749. C -14 Specialties Amcon recommends Construction Supply for this contract in the amount of $18,187. C -15 HM, Doors, Frames Amcon recommends Bredemus Hardware Co, Inc. for this contract in the amount of $34,500. C -16 Glass Glazing Amcon recommends Midland Glass Co, Inc. for this contract in the amount of $48,706. C -17 Translucent Wall Panels Amcon recommends W L. Hall Co. for this contract in the amount of $22,923. C -23 Tiling Amcon recommends Resch's Tile, Inc for this contract in the amount of $31,794 C -24 Flooring Amcon recommends Commercial Flooring Services, LLC for this contract in the amount of $20,496. C -25 Painting Coatings Color Pro Painting Co was the apparent low bidder for this contract, but after verifying their bid we have found errors in their number. At this point they will not be able to proceed with the contract.
