City Council Meeting May 16, 2006
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Representatives from Regions Hospital and LifeLink Helicopter Medical Transportation have
requested to make a presentation to the Council as part of Emergency Medical Services
Week. The representatives will specifically recognize the actions of public safety first
responders on their handling of a serious personal injury traffic crash on April 8, 2006 at
approximately 6.30 a.m. on County Road 42 near Biscayne Avenue.
The quick actions of the personnel involved in this incident were instrumental in the LifeLink
helicopter crew's ability to quickly land at the site, be briefed on the injured party's status,
load the patient and leave the site for Region's Hospital. This patient was critically injured,
but due to the quick response, immediate request for LifeLink transport and the coordination
of the on -scene activities his life was saved
