EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
ISSUE
Pursuant to Munn Stat. g 204B.16, subd. 3, the last day to change polling places prior to the primary
electron is June 14, 2006. Due to construction at Dakota County Technical College "DCTC and the
current uses of the Annex at St Joseph's Church, Precincts 2 and 5A will need to be relocated for the 2006
electron year.
SUMMARY
Listed below is the polling locations designated for the 2006 Elections. Each of the polling locations
fulfills accessibility requirements mandated by the Help America Vote Act "HAVA and each location is
available for use on both the primary and general electron days.

Should the council approve establishment of the polling locations, staff will begin public notification
through the City's website, newsletter, Local newspaper and other sources as needed In addition, all voters
in Precincts 2 and 5A will receive a direct mailing informing them of their polling location for 2006.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the attached Resolution designating the seven polling locations for the 2006 elections.

RESOLUTION 2006
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DESIGNATION OF
POLLING PLACES FOR 2006 ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has called for a Primary Election on September 12, 2006, and
the county, state, federal and municipal governments have called a General Election on November
7, 2006, and
WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount is divided into seven precincts for the election of four Council
Members and one Mayor, and
WHEREAS, polling locations need to be designated for each precinct and notice must be sent to
all affected voters.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Rosemount hereby designates the
following precinct locations for the 2006 elections and all subsequent elections until changed by the
City Council of the City of Rosemount
ADOPTED this 16th day of May, 2006 by the City Council of the City of Rosemount.
