EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
BACKGROUND
The City of Rosemount and LELS Pohce Officers, LELS Sergeants, AFSCME and Teamsters have now
concluded negonattons for 2006 -2007. With the exception of one contract, vacation accrual rates have
been adjusted according to the schedule illustrated below. The police officers contract allows for an
additional level of accrual to 280 hours.
Past Contracts
Zero thtu four years of service 20 days (160 hours)
Five thru ten years of service 25 days (200 hours)
Eleven years of service and above 30 days (240 hours)
Current Contract
All full -time employees may accumulate vacation accrual to a maximum of 240 hours.
This change was initiated because of the resulting efficiency in streamlining the accrual procedures.
It is requested that the City's personnel policies reflect this adjustment so that all employees, including
non -union, follow this accrual schedule.
SUMMARY
The changes that have been requested are comparable with other Stanton 6 communities and with other
internal employee groups "Therefore, it is requested that Council approve the vacation accrual adjustment
for non represented employees and that City personnel policies be amended to reflect the change.
