EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
BACKGROUND
There is $400,000 in the 2006 CIP budget for the construction of Brockway Park m the Harmony
Development In preparation of possibly starting development m the park this year, staff has recently
requested that a number of landscape architect /engineering firms provide us with a quote for professional
services. The services requested include the four phases listed below:
Phase I Provide the City with a colored drawing of the park plan and a cost estimate for the park
construction. The park plan will be available in a digital format.
Phase 1I Review of current grading plan and adjustments needed for the current park plan designed by
Westwood Professional Services The consultant should calculate the amount of additional earth moving
quantities needed to meet the grades set by Westwood Professional Services.
Phase III Provide Civil and Electrical Engineering services to develop the construction documents (plans and
specifications) Conduct the pre -bid conference. Attend the bid opening and provide the contractor letter of
recommendation The construction and bid documents will be for all amenities m the park, except for the
playground equipment and sun shelter. Items would include trails, parking lot, tennis courts, bocce ball courts,
horseshoe pits, basketball court, baseball /softball field, all fencing and trngauon It is not necessary to included
tune for storm water pondmg calculations, design or agency reviews
Phase IV Provide construction administration and construction inspection services.
SUMMARY
Staff received price quotes form ten different consulting firms The prices quotes submitted are broken
down by phase and also hsted as a total package.
The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the submittals on Monday, June 26 and recommended
that the City Council approve contracting with SRF for the professional services needed to develop
Brockway Park
