This change order addresses the following revisions to the project. 1. Increasing the size on two water manholes from 72" to 96" diameter in order to accommodate the 24" butterfly valves and allow sufficient clearance for safe and efficient operation The above changes to the project result in a net increase of $8,660 for a revised contract amount of $6,124,282.56, SUMMARY: Staff recommends Council approval of Change Order No. 1 for the Old County Road 38/132 Court West Street and Utility Improvements, City Project #387. The change order reflects a net increase to the contract amount of $8,660.00 for a revised contract total of $6,124,282.56. If the attached meets with your approval, please sign and process. The plan called for among other things for the installation of a 24" butterfly water valve in a 72" diameter manhole. The butterfly valve ordered by the contractor would not fit into the manhole specified and still allow sufficient clearance for the safe and efficient operation of the valve. The water manhole was increased in size to 96" diameter which resulted in an additional cost of $4,330.00 for each watermain manhole. There are two such manholes on the project which will result in an overall increase with this change order in the amount of $8,660.00.
